HASA is a non-profit organisation that aims to provide support for Huntington's Disease (HD) sufferers and their familes and caregivers.
The purpose of this association is to:
1) Form part of the support structure for HD sufferers, their families and caregivers,
2) Educate people about HD,
3) Raise funds for:
-the development of a care & respite centre for HD sufferers and their families and caregivers,
-training caregivers
-funding a network of caregivers to assist families with one or more HD sufferer
-the creation of a fund to assist families whose main breadwinner has HD,
-further research towards a cure for HD.In 2006, the Huntington's Association of South Africa was registered under Section 21 as a non-profit organisation and a Section 18A for tax redemption.
